Turn-based
Me pregunto como traducir "turn-based" al espa?ol. He escrito como esto en The Chess Portal:
?You send a move via ordinary e-mail or use a special e-mail program for chess. Secondly web based playsites, whereby the so called turn-based are technically the most advanced and consequently the most user-friendly. It means that you play on a web based interface, whereby an e-mail automatically is sent to the opponent. The opponent clicks on a link in the e-mail and the chessboard appears on your screen, or he/she is transferred directly to the playsite. Very practical.?
En El Portal de Ajedrez: ?En parte es un s?tio de juego basado en internet, de los cuales los llamados ?turn-based? son los m?s avanzados t?cnicamente y por tanto los m?s sencillos de usar. Se basa en que uno realiza una movida sobre un dise?o Internet, desde donde un mensaje electr?nico es enviado al contrincante en forma autom?tica. El adversario hace click en el enlace del mensaje y el tablero de ajedrez aparece en la pantalla, o la movida aparece directamente en el s?tio de juego. Muy pr?ctico.?
?Puede "turn-based" ser traducido con "vuelta-basado"? Tambi?n he visto "un juego dar vuelta " y ?seg?n el orden de turno".

Can ?turn-based? be translated with ?vuelta-basado?? I have also seen ?un juego dar vuelta? and ?seg?n el orden de turno??

No. No puedes decir "vuelta-basado". "Turn" no significa en este contexto "volver" o "vuelta" sino turno, palabras que no tienen el mismo significado en espa?ol.
No creo que exista ninguna expresi?n en espa?ol para esta modalidad de juego, sino que utilizar?amos tambi?n ajedrez por correspondencia o ajedrez por e-mail.
No creo que importe mucho el nombre porque luego explicas claramente en que consiste. De todas formas si le quieres dar un nombre, la traducci?n al espa?ol de "turn-based" ser?a algo como "por turnos" o "juego por turnos" .
Mejor traduzco al ingl?s, para que quede m?s claro:
You can?t say "vuelta-basado" in Spanish. "Turn" doesn?t mean here"volver" or "vuelta", but "turno".These words don?t have the same meaning in Spanish.
I don?t think there exists an expression in Spanish for that kind of game yet. We would also use correspondence chess or e-mail chess for it. (In fact the word "turn-based" is a bit meaningless, because chess is based on turns itself. Both players don?t move at the same time.)
I don?t think the name is very important, as you later explain clearly what it is about. Anyway, if you want to call it somehow, I think the most appropiate translation into Spanish would be "por turnos" ("turn-based game"->"juego por turnos").
